Residence Card
What is it, and what is it for?
Residence Card (Karta pobytu) is a document that confirms the right of a foreigner or a stateless person to reside in Poland. This document grants the holder the right to leave and re-enter Poland freely throughout the validity period of the residence permit. Additionally, the Residence Card allows visa-free travel and stays in Schengen Area countries for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.
Validity Period:
  • Temporary Residence Card (Karta czasowego pobytu): Valid for up to 3 years.
  • Permanent Residence Card (Karta stałego pobytu): Issued indefinitely but must be renewed every 10 years. The renewal involves only reissuing the card without needing to undergo the residence permit application process again.
